So...we do have a camera now thanks to Shelby and mom and dad for their hand me downs, but I've been so used to not having one that I forgot to bring it anywhere this weekend. So there are no pictures. :(
Friday evening was the beginning of Payson's annual Onion Days, which has absolutely nothing to do with onions. We spent some time at the carnival, rode a few rides, ate a funnel cake and wandered the booths. Friday night we walked across the street at 9pm and watched the fireworks.
Saturday we woke up about 7 and headed down to Moab for the day. We picked a new trail that we hadn't done before that was supposed to take 2-3 hours. I was a horrible navigator and started reading the wrong map halfway through the trail. I thought that the trail would pop out on a dirt road that would take up back to Moab, but we got to a dead end in the trail and had to turn around and do almost the entire thing over again to get out. So we were out for almost 6 hours instead of 2-3, but we still made it into town about 5:30 and were able to have a nice dinner before we headed home.
Monday morning was the town's parade. We only live a few blocks from it so we are able to walk over right before it starts and wait until the cops shut down the road and then sit in the middle of the road. No having to get there really early and save seats or anything. :D Last year we left early because it started to rain, but this year was perfect and the kids had tons of fun collecting candy. Monday afternoon we drove up to our friend's propery in the middle of nowhere and had a BBQ.
It was a fantastic weekend and now I'm back into the groove of regular life with laundry, cleaning and canning.
