This is a view of the "sitting room" (it's not tall enough to stand in) from the top of the ladder. When it's all finished there will be a railing all the way across to keep kids from falling.
To the left is the beam where the loft starts and the rest of the room will now have vaulted ceilings. It has definitely kept Kevin busy the last couple of weeks.

Will you ever be able to stand up in there? If not, I'm not sure a hobbit cave is worth the trouble.
Isn't your house freezing? Looks like fun.
It's a bedroom, so we just keep the door shut to that room, but that room is freezing at the moment.
