Stimulus Check
Anyone know how those stimulus checks actually worked? The news kept telling us $600 per couple and $300 per kid. Which for us would have been $2100. We were so looking forward to that, but we got out money today and we only ended up with $1622? That seems like a very random number. Anyone know more about them?

Hey! It's Becky. We got ours and it was only $900. We should have been at $1500 with Jordyn. I was pretty upset too but I dont know what we could do.
It has something to do with the deductions or something. If you claimed a bunch of deductions, and/or got certain tax credits, you didn't get the whole thing.....I think it's something like that.
Mine worked like it was suppose to. Bummer about yours. I heard though that it's really just an advance on this years taxes, it's not really free money-we all pay for it in our 2008 returns-yuck!
No, but I'm thinking about getting it again. We can also order movies through our cable when we want one. Then it's pay as you go not automatic payment for a movie that sits around for weeks.
It is a advance credit that the gov was going to give us for this year but decided that the ecomony needed a little boost! So they gave it to everyone this year! WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY IT BACK!! despite what you hear! I got on line and read a article on a news confrence that Prs Bush gave and he said we don't pay it back! You should get something in the mail just letting you know about why your is so much less then it should be! The only thing I think of is Did you owe any taxes? If you don't get anything in the mail google a press confrence with Bush about the Stimulus check and you should read the same thing i did!! I hope this help and sorry your was so much less!!!
